New Designs
The Mazda CX-9 was built on the transverse-engine platform used in older Mazda models and utilized a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Newer Mazda SUVs are built around a longitudinal-engine platform, which distributes the weight of the engine more evenly and improves handling. The four-cylinder engine has also been replaced by a turbocharged inline-six design on most modern models.
2025 MAZDA CX-90
The 2025 Mazda CX-90 is the nearest replacement for the Mazda CX-9, with three rows of seating and a spacious, connected cabin. The spacious interior features up to 75.2 cubic feet of cargo storage, just as much space as the roomy 2022 Mazda CX-9. With seating for up to eight, luxurious materials, and a full suite of preventative safety technology, this new SUV makes an even better family vehicle than its predecessor.
2025 MAZDA CX-70
While the 2025 Mazda CX-70 only features two rows of seating, it still delivers the satisfying drive and engaging handling of the Mazda CX-9.
