Oil changes are imperative to achieving top-quality vehicle efficiency and safety. However, oil isn’t the only important fluid in your car – from transmission fluid to washer fluid, your vehicle runs on several other vital fluids as well. It’s important to check and maintain safe levels of all vehicle fluids, so our technicians at our Mazda service center want to give you a brief run-down of all the different types of fluids inside your vehicle.

You are probably already familiar with oil – it lubricates your engine and keeps everything running smoothly. But what about radiator fluid? Also known as coolant or antifreeze, this orange or green substance keeps your engine from overheating, which can be dangerous. You’ve also got transmission fluid, brake fluid, and power steering fluid working in your vehicle as well. Each of these fluids work to lubricate their respective car parts to prevent friction and undue wear. While these don’t need to be swapped out as often as oil changes, they do need to be checked and topped off from time to time.

Air conditioning coolant or refrigerant is important in the summertime if you want your A/C to blow cold air. While washer fluid isn’t as essential as some of the other fluids, it is needed for keeping your windshield clean and easy to see through.

Diagnosing a fluid issue is a cinch for our expert technicians. Depending on the symptoms your vehicle is having and if any warning lights are on, we can go through our long list to determine the root of the issue. Sometimes a fluid may just be low, but if it’s actively leaking, you may need a hose or other car part replaced.

To save you money on fluid service, we have all kinds of Mazda coupons that can make car care more budget-friendly. Come visit our technicians at Peruzzi Mazda soon!
