Coolant (1)

The single easiest way to keep your vehicle running for a long time is to keep up with your regular Mazda service appointments, where our technicians will check your vehicle’s various components and fluids. Here are five fluids that will need to be routinely monitored and replaced in order to maximize your car’s performance and lifespan.

1.      Oil

This is a no-brainer, but also the most important. Motor oil keeps your engine running, and low levels can cause irreparable harm if left too long.

2.      Windshield Wiper Fluid

You may not worry about windshield wiper fluid, but low levels can be dangerous when you have a dirty windshield and little visibility.

3.      Power Steering Fluid

This is important on all modern cars as power steering fluid lets you turn the wheel at low speeds and while parking. Without this, you might find yourself stuck.

4.      Brake Fluid

Brake fluid will keep your brakes from seizing up and putting you in danger. If your brake light is illuminated, this may indicate you’re due for a refill.

5.      Coolant/Antifreeze

Whether you’re in hot climates or freezing ones, you want to make sure your car can start and doesn’t overheat. This is another easy fluid to keep tabs on.

Bonus: Transmission Fluid

This fluid is important but varies depending on whether you have an automatic transmission, a manual transmission, or a continuously variable transmission. We can help you figure out which type of transmission fluid you need.
