First of all, the 2019 Mazda MX-5 will see a reworked SKYACTIV®-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine for 2019, which is capable of producing 181 horsepower and 151 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s 3 lb.-ft. and 26 horsepower more than before. Due to this increase in power, we’ve also raised the redline from 6,800 RPM to 7,500 RPM. A brand new exhaust will give this model a richer sound quality, too.

A brown canvas soft top and black metallic 17-inch rims will be added, plus “easier-to-open” doors, modified cupholders and seat levers, and a new telescoping steering wheel. Now standard in all trims, the car will include a standard reversing camera. Traffic sign recognition, smart city brake support, and i-ACTIVESENSE® safety technologies will be available in the higher trims and as an add-on feature.
