You just never know when you’ll encounter a bad road driving around Philadelphia, which is why it pays to be prepared to deal with a flat tire. While a Mazda tire repair can ultimately solve the problem, you should know how to change your flat, and this guide will help you do it.
Get Out Your Supplies
You need three things to change a flat tire: a new tire, a jack, and a lug wrench. It’s important to always have these items in your car.
Start By Loosening the Lug Nuts
Once you have your tools, begin by loosening the lug nuts, but leave them on.
Jack Up Your Car
The next step is to put the jack under a firm section of the car’s frame and then turn the jack handle clockwise. Don’t stop until the car is up several inches.
Remove the Bad Tire
Next, completely take off the lug nuts and the tire. Then, line up the holes with the good tire and put the lug nuts back on. Make sure they are tight.
Put the Car Back Down
Finally, turn the jack handle counterclockwise until the car is back on the ground. It’s worth making sure that all of the lug nuts are nice and tight.
While that takes care of the flat tire, there are two other key steps to take. First, you should have the bad tire examined.
If it’s just a minor issue, it may be able to be fixed. If this is the case, this could be your new spare tire. If it can’t be fixed, you need to get a new spare.
Whether you need a tire repair or replacement, you can always count on Peruzzi Mazda.
