The 2020 version of the Mazda CX-5 earned the highest honors of Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA. While these evaluations have not yet been completed for the 2021 model, we have no doubt that it will follow in the footsteps of last year’s much beloved model.

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 goes beyond basic safety with its host of i-Activsense® driver assist features that are designed to avoid collisions and lessen their impact.

Basics of Safety

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 has all of the features you would expect a new SUV to have. We know how important it is to have various airbags, a four-wheel anti-lock braking system, four-wheel disc brakes, traction control, and electronic stability in a vehicle, but the Mazda CX-5 has so much more than that. Even the features you may not immediately think of like daytime running lights, child safety locks, and integrated turn signal mirrors play a part in the safety of this SUV.

Driver Assistance Features

  • Blind Spot Monitoring – This feature detects present or potential objects in your blind spots and immediately warns you with a light in your side mirror and Active Driving Display interface.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert – Designed for backing up, this feature detects vehicles approaching from the side and gives you an audible and visual warning.
  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop and Go – This feature allows you to set a speed and minimum following distance from the traffic ahead while using cruise control. If the vehicle you’re following reduces its speed or stops, your vehicle will adjust accordingly.
  • Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection – Designed for both daytime and nighttime driving, this feature detects vehicles and pedestrians in your path and warns you to brake if necessary.

Our Mazda dealers here at Peruzzi Mazda in Fairless Hills, PA are more than happy to show you everything the new Mazda CX-5 has to offer. We hope to see you soon in our showroom!
