MAZDA Service Tips: Which Type of Fuel Should I Use?

Our Mazda service team is dedicated to repairing, maintaining, and dispersing helpful information to all of our customers. One of the most common questions we get in our service center is, “What type of fuel should I use for my Mazda vehicle?” For that, we have a more detailed explanation, but we recommend checking your manual first and foremost. If you're still confused, visit our service center at Peruzzi Mazda to learn which fuel type is best for your vehicle. more Different Fuel Types Regular, unleaded fuel is labeled as 87 octane gasoline. This is suitable for most non-performance, everyday commuter vehicles, especially in low or moderate altitudes where quick combustion is a good thing. However, if your vehicle requires higher compression and heat endurance and you need slower combusting fuel, higher octane fuel labeled 90 or above is preferable. These higher octane fuels can cost more at the gas station, but they also perform better with different additives than regular unleaded. Other fuel types include diesel and ethanol, but those are only limited to specific vehicles and are not intended for most models. Which Fuel Should You Use? Most Mazda cars do not require premium fuel, but in many cases, you will get optimum performance only with a higher octane fuel (generally 91 octane). Specific recommendations will be listed in the owner’s manual for your vehicle, so it’s always best to check there first for recommended or unrecommended fuel types. Here at Peruzzi Mazda, we will happily tell you more about fuel best practices and how to get the best performance out of your Mazda vehicle. Come see us soon this holiday season, and stay safe out there!

MAZDA Parts 101: What are Engine Cylinders?

The Mazda parts inside your car all work together in synchronized union to achieve one goal: to drive. Some parts are more instrumental in that process than others, and as you may have guessed, engine cylinders are among the most important. So what exactly are engine cylinders and how do they help your vehicle accelerate? Our Mazda dealers are here to break it down. more What Do Engine Cylinders Do? Engine cylinders are the power units of an engine. This is where fuel is burned and turned into mechanical energy, which powers your car. Engine cylinders are made of metal and are sealed tight inside of an engine. They house pistons that are responsible for compressing fuel, which results in ignition and combustion. You’ve probably heard of engine cylinders referred to with numbers, such as four, six, and eight. These numbers reflect the number of cylinders inside an engine; the more cylinders that are present, the higher the power output will be. Cylinders that are positioned in a straight line indicate that an engine is “inline,” whereas six or more cylinders might be referred to as a “V” engine because of the V-shape in which they are arranged. Why You Need Engine Cylinders If an engine cylinder is not working efficiently, you can get various bad results. Overheating, leaking, or misfiring are obvious problems which can cause extreme harm to your engine. Luckily, if any of these issues occur, it will usually trigger your “Check Engine” light to come on. Our Mazda service experts are happy to answer additional questions or talk you through any needed maintenance and repairs. How to Check the Tire Pressure of Your MAZDA Tires

Having properly inflated tires with sufficient tread can vastly improve your safety on the road, especially in the colder and rainier months of the year. At Peruzzi Mazda, we will gladly help you select and maintain your tires in our Mazda service center for the duration of your vehicle’s lifespan. We've compiled five easy steps for checking your tire pressure at home. more How to Check Your Tire Pressure Find your tire pressure gauge. This may mean buying a pressure gauge at a car parts store, borrowing one from a friend, or using a monitor at a local gas station. You can even find a fairly small and inexpensive one online that you can keep in your glove compartment when you're not using it. Locate the PSI recommendation. You'll find this number located inside the driver’s door of your vehicle or inside your owner’s manual. It will likely list a preferred range your tires should stay within. Wait a few hours to check your tires. When you wait a few hours to check your tire pressure, you can make sure your tires are cold, firm, and not affected by the friction of recent use. Take off the cap on your wheel. Find the small cap located on each of your wheels and insert the pressure gauge into the valve stem. Check the PSI. If the number is above your preferred amount, let some air out. If it is below, visit the closest air pump or swing by our dealership for a quick fill up. Tires are known to lose up to one pound per square inch every month, especially during colder months. That's why it’s important that you check them at least once per month and before long trips. Come view our Mazda tire inventory when you are ready to replace your current set of tires. Our Mazda dealers look forward to working with you soon!

MAZDA Service Tips: What to Do After an Accident

Having even a minor fender bender can ruin your whole week. However, some car accidents can be much more serious than that, and cause lasting damage, too. That’s why our Mazda service professionals here at Peruzzi Mazda want to help you be mentally prepared in case that ever happens to you. 1. Safety First First of all, nothing is as important as your safety. After a collision or accident, assess the situation. If no major injuries have occurred, your next biggest priority is to get out of any dangerous situation. Whether that means moving to the side of the road, exiting the vehicle, or setting out emergency triangles to warn other drivers, it's important that you get to safety before doing anything else. 2. Call for Help If Necessary Next, you should call the proper authorities, depending on the severity of your situation. If you are in any way questioning a possible injury or having an altercation with other drivers involved, you should call 9-1-1 for help. 3. Document the Situation After everything else is taken care of, you’ll want to take photos, videos, or other means of documentation for your insurance company. You may or may not also need to obtain a copy of the police report, too. You’ll also need to exchange insurance information with any other driver(s) involved. 4. File for Insurance Compensation Lastly, take your documentation to your insurance company. Depending on state laws, who is at fault, and the coverage carried by each driver, they may have different resolutions for your needed repairs. At Peruzzi Mazda, we hope you never get into an accident on the road, but if you do, we are here to help you. Call our service center during business hours to discuss any repairs needed after an accident.

How to Configure the Seats in Your MAZDA CX-30

The Mazda CX-30 is the kind of vehicle that puts comfort, from the high-quality carpet to the soft, knit fabric on the ceiling. However, we know that the part of the car that you’ll make the most contact with is also the most important - and that’s the seat. This Mazda model offers some of the most luxurious seating in any SUV on the market. Start planning your next big family road trip with us today at Peruzzi Mazda. Convenient Seating If you’ve got children, the LATCH system in the Mazda CX-30 is so important. This system can easily accommodate two car seats in the back including forward-facing, rear-facing, infant, and booster car seats. Another way you can configure your seats in the Mazda CX-30 is with the eight-way power driver seat, which can be memory programmed to your specifications. You’ll never have to worry about a secondary driver permanently changing your most comfortable position, and the extra ground clearance makes this model great even for taller drivers. Seat Materials Cloth upholstery comes standard in the Mazda CX-30, but you can also upgrade to synthetic leather seating. While you're at it, you can also outfit your steering wheel and shift knob in leather as well. Heated front seats are also a great touch in this Mazda SUV, especially if you’ve got a bad back. Ample Space The Mazda CX-30 can seat five passengers without issue. When all the seats are in place, this Mazda SUV gives you 20.2 cubic feet of cargo space to work with. That can always be expanded to 45.2 cubic feet if you fold the seats down. Despite being slightly smaller than some of other Mazda models, the Mazda CX-30 actually has the same amount of space between the driver and passenger seats, making it easy to check on rear seat passengers. Visit us today to test out these seating configurations for yourself. You can find the Mazda CX-30 among our new Mazda cars for sale near Philadelphia.

MAZDA Service Tips: How to Know if You Need Brake Repair

Our Mazda service center in Fairless Hills is always in your corner. Our dealership-driver relationship doesn’t end when you drive off our lot in a new Mazda car. Some of the most important vehicle parts to maintain are your brakes, so we hope you can trust us to assist you whenever you experience brake problems. You'll thank yourself for coming in sooner rather than later! Brake Repair Warning Signs Lights on your dashboard. If a red brake warning light comes on in your car, we urge you to take it to us so we can check out your brakes. Strange sounds. Squealing, squeaking, or grinding noises when you press on the brake indicate that your brake pads may be worn well beyond what is ideal. Unusual vibrations. Shakiness in your steering wheel or vibrations in your brake pedal can indicate something is awry with the braking, alignment, or other parts of your car. Burning smell. Brake rotors and other parts of the braking system grinding together can produce a burning smell. This type of smell resembles the smell tractor trailers make going down hill on the turnpike. Leaking fluid. Depending on the color and odor of the fluid that leaks under your car, you can identify what the issue may be. A light color fluid that resembles vegetable oil could very well be leaking brake fluid. Difficulty braking or steering. Easily the most nerve-wracking sign, your car pulling to one side or not coming to a stop as quickly as it should is a huge red flag. Entrust our dealers at Peruzzi Mazda to remedy these issues as soon as possible. We'll make sure your car is as healthy and safe as it can be.

When it comes to the 2020 Mazda CX-5, shoppers get to experience a well-rounded driving experience complete with an abundance of power, style, and innovation. Another strong contender in the SUV class is the 2020 Nissan Rogue, which is also quite powerful, stylish, and innovative.
