Trim Levels (Exterior)

For 2018, the Mazda6 gets four trim levels. The Sport starts things off with a low MSRP and standard features like a 7-inch touch screen with MAZDA CONNECT, 17-inch wheels, and LED taillights. The Touring comes next and offers extra features like rain-sensing windshield wipers, 19-inch wheels, and automatic headlights.

The Grand Touring upgrades your ride with a power moonroof, heated leather seats, adaptive LED headlights, and a set of paddle shifters for easy shifting. The last trim is the new one for 2018, and with the Signature you get luxurious features like Nappa leather seats with suede-like inlays and real wood trim on the doors and dashboard.

Engine (Power)
To start things off, the 2018 Mazda6 gets a 2.5-liter I-4 engine that generates 184 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque. That's plenty for everyday driving, but if that's not enough you can get a high-level trim with a 2.5-liter turbo I-4. This engine delivers 227 horsepower with 310 pound-feet of torque. And while the engines are big for a four-cylinder design, they make up for the extra weight with an efficient feature that shuts down half the cylinders once you reach a cruising speed.
Performance

Power is no problem in a 2018 Mazda6 thanks to its two potent engines. With either power plant under the hood, you can count on strong acceleration and efficient torque. That's because Mazda engineers spend their time on every part of the vehicle to make sure it handles perfectly and reacts immediately when you turn the steering wheel.

And while most midsize sedans get rid of the manual transmission option, the Sport and Touring models both come with an available manual. For their part, the Grand Touring and Signature trims get paddle shifters so you can stay in complete control of your shifting rate.

Interior
The trunk on the 2018 Mazda6 has 14.8 cubic feet to spare, a decent size for its class. The back row has even more room to spare, with 39 inches of legroom and the same hip space offered by the front row. On top of that, when you get a top trim, you can also get luxury interior features like a Bose 11-speaker audio system with active noise cancellation, an 8-inch touch screen with a navigation system, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Safety Features
Standard on every 2018 Mazda6 are features like a rearview camera, six air bags, the Dynamic Stability Control with Traction Control System, and a hill start assist. On top of that comes a rear cross-traffic alert with blind spot monitoring and Smart City Brake Support. On the Grand Touring and higher, you can also count on Mazda Radar Cruise Control and a Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist.
